There is so much more to do than "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" in the historic Fenway neighborhood. After renovating the stadium during the early part of the 21st century, The Fenway neighborhood witnessed property value increases. Several new businesses opened around Fenway Park to expand an already bountiful tax base. Although sports bars and sports memorabilia shops line the streets surrounding Fenway Park, the neighborhood is also home to high end fashion boutiques and upscale restaurants that have received national publicity.

The Fenway neighborhood architecture features brownstone homes and multi-story apartment buildings to accommodate housing demand placed by college students and young professionals that seek an affordable, yet stylish place to call home. Kenmore Square boasts multiple commercial developments along Boylston Street and Brookline Avenue. The Fenway promotes independently owned small businesses, as neighborhood association leaders eschew big box retailers that drain community resources. Academia reigns supreme in The Fenway neighborhood, with Boston University, Northeastern University, and Boston Conservatory of Music located within the neighborhood. Boston University has purchased and renovated multi-level apartment buildings to convert the structures into student dormitories. The property conversions have reduced supply of apartment housing, which has led to an increase in rents.

Residents can walk to neighborhood cultural attractions, such as Symphony Hall and the Museum of Fine Arts. Visitors take the orange line to the Ruggles subway station for quick access to The Fenway neighborhood. The green line trolley makes stops at Fenway, Kenmore, St. Mary's Street, and Northeastern University. Interstate 90 slices through the heart of The Fenway neighborhood, within range of a David Ortiz moon shot. Heavy traffic congestion on Interstate 90 makes the public transit option more appealing for commuters.
